///Feed Widows, "Let her prey get their revenge. In her state, she won't survive this." Taking hold of the demon's horn, you begin dragging her to the edge of the oasis, where the webs are more dense. She yelps at the sudden motion, but ignores the discomfort as she pieces together your plan. [say:N-[b:No!]] she says. The wasp starts to writhe in your grasp, but her feet lose purchase on the wet muck. [say:Make all the mess you want here, burn everything down, it's fine--we [b:both] hate these spiders!] Her hands clasp around yours and dig in, making you wince and release, but after pulling away, you grab her horn again and yank. Taking advantage of her weakened state, you swing your [leg] into the demoness's stomach. The air escapes her and you throw the woman into the webs. Her dark wings beat as hard as they're able, but the momentum is too much, with too little time to change course--she falls into the sticky silk, back-first. She screams and swings her limbs around, but it only wraps her up in more strands and attracts feral spiders over. That insectoid chirping resonates out of her chitin, but it isn't soothing or foreboding now, it sounds like fear. [say:I don't know what I wazz thinking! I zhouldn't have attacked you!] she says. The panic begins to subside as she articulates herself more. [say:I thought of this as my place to play, and you were messing things up and--] her words cut short as the widows congregate on her. [say:Nonono--] Her stinger thrashes with astonishing speed, splitting one cat-sized spider in half, but this provokes the others to web her more, restraining the demon. Tears well up in her pitch black eyes. [say:Anything but thiz!] she pleads. [say:Don't let me die like my zizzterz!] This display is intense. Despite her words, though, could you even do anything at this point? The number of widows is rapidly increasing with every moment, and she's too webbed to get out with anything short of an inferno, which would no doubt incense the horde. [Watch].tooltip="Sit back and watch her die." [Leave].tooltip="Suffice to say she's as good as dead." //Leave There's nothing you can do--the deed is done, and as you [walk] away, her screams grow more intense. You should probably avoid this spot for a while. //Watch. +cor unless DEUSVULT She can beg all she'd like, you aren't helping. Her fate was sealed when she [if (WaspFights>1) {refused to stop attacking|attacked}] you. However wary they are of this demon that seems to have been troubling them for some time, one of the widows finally lunges in for her face, and she screams as its fangs sink in. [say:It hurtz! It hurtz!] she cries, and her struggles make it bite more. In a rush of adrenaline, she turns her head and bites back, crushing the spider's face in her teeth! More spiders begin lunging at the joints and gaps in her chitin, biting the vulnerable flesh. Wailing, she shakes and shudders. [say:Zzuch horrible, [b:evil] monzterz!] One of her arms flex, trying to crush a spider biting her elbow, but she fails to move even half the distance. She heaves with nausea. [say:Zizterz,] she sobs. [say:I'm zcared.] The sobbing intensifies. [say: It burnz and ztingz and--and...] She trails off into wordless, tearful choking and crying. After a few minutes, you think there may be nothing else to see until the spiders are finished with their meal. You'll have to come back later. ///Until at least one hour has passed, this tile will say this Caught up in a large amount of webbing is the wasp demon you battled. Faint sobs can sometimes be heard, or maybe it's just fluid spilling into her lungs as the spiders try to digest her with their venom. ///Later There's what remains of the wasp demon in some webbing. Several dead spiders lay in the mud below, and the rest appear to have abandoned the meal. Perhaps demon flesh isn't healthy. [if (!takenchitin) {[b:Her chitin may make great armor.] [Take] }] //Take Wary of any arachnids that could take issue with the ruckus, you watch your fingers and try to remove the corpse as seamlessly as possible--and in the process, you find the wasp essentially [i:spilling] out of the armor. Conveniently, this does leave you with relatively clean chitin to use. [b:Wasp chitin added to key items.] Would a blacksmith need to look at it?
