////FACTIONS: Demons. I'm not sure how this should be unlocked
The Demons

--Appearances--
Those that have set out to conquer this world have no uniform, no insignia, and yet remain unmistakable. They have inhuman skin-tones, numerous horns, wings, and a tail as a nearly universal set of traits. Those deviating from these traits are likely to be non-human in origin, still holding strongly to attributes of their previous race, however it is known that they always have a visible menace to them. Demons are, should they make no attempt to hide it, the very picture of corruption.

--Hierarchy--
The inner-workings of the demonic plague are very opaque. What becomes obvious is that at the very bottom of the social ladder are imps, alongside the heavily punished. For those on that rung, almost none will hold any real power within the faction, and nobody would bat an eye at their suffering if anything should befall them. At the next step up are the lust demons, often the savagely raped victims of other demons. They were not brought into the fold for their merits, and this group often divides into their own individual hierarchies out of sexual dominance over one-another. The full breadth of ranks is unknown beyond this, besides the Queen of Demons herself at the top of it all: Lethice.

--The Demon Queen Lethice--
While her name has become known far and wide, her history has been shrouded in mystery. To some, she is said to be the first demon, to others she is merely the strongest, and to yet others still she is simply the original leader of the group that later became the demons. The only certainty is that Lethice commands monsters of the highest caliber, directing the forces that dismantled civilization. Her skin is red, her wings vast, and her form incomparably beautiful. Even those that would call themselves gods have bent their knee in servitude to the Queen.

--Corrupt and Conquer--
Upon many years of seeing its effects in play, corruption is the most sinister and intangible weapon of the demons. It is likely, even, that they need not ever made their presence known--opting instead to spread corruption in secret. Given their great power and often a degree of pride or self-love, though, the thrill of attacking directly was too much for them to resist. It cannot be denied that they have made a permanent mark on the consciousness of all cultures as a result of their choice. To witness an enemy's leading figure shatter the resistance of living legends, and go so far as to rape them for the sheer sport of it, until once-stalwart defenders twist into something horrific and target their own friends and family, was capable of breaking the spirits of all who opposed them. The corruption of champions assured that nearly all remaining factions would rather run and hide than fight.

//Prominent figures and their relevance. *SPOILERS*
/Akbal, God of The Terrestrial Fire
"Among the first to ascend." He became a demon around the same time that Lethice did, and held a high position as one of the greater demons. Although not required of him, he chose to take to the field directly, leading vanguard forces out of a narcissistic wish to dominate others when they had the greatest confidence to defy him. His choice to call himself a God and force people to worship him as one also came with training his psychic magics to allow the gifting of select memories, ergo gifting spells of his to others. In time, his tremendous power and choice to jump forward into the heat of the action made him an extremely obvious priority target for eliminating, and Marae helped in crafting a spell the mages could use to seal him away.
/Hellhound Master
Unspecified place of important among the demons. He has his own base of operations, his own objectives, and his own school of magic. Whatever part he plays is likely high ranking, and may even be related to Lethice's R&D due to his interest in creating a new race of monsters entirely of his own. The hellhounds may be work-in-progress toward low-level warriors that are more fiercely loyal than imps or lust demons, or perhaps they're meant to be trained for hunting special targets, or maybe the accolades of the Hellhound Master simply permits him to pursue a personal project he does out of passion. As this is rather unexplored, nothing is set in stone.
/Syrena
Head of Lethice's research team, she is responsible for many sorts of technology including developing a way to traverse portals out of Mareth. Three lines currently mention her, two of which state she is a shark-morph demon. One mentions she has a mino cock. These are not to be set in stone. In all likelihood, the dick will be removed in later updates when end-game is expanded on, namely the re-design of the Stronghold.
/Zetaz
An imp that was tasked with dragging the humans that came from Ingnam back to the factory. He may be the highest ranking imp out there, responsible for continuing a task that mostly fulfilled already for a factory that had already done well to milk victims for all the value they're worth. Perhaps he's not as important as he thought he was. After his failure, Zetaz believed himself destined for the chopping block--which is not an unreasonable fear as the demons cull imps on things as minuscule as a whim--and Zetaz eventually decided to begin eating transformative substances despite the inherent dangers to his life. Lucky for him, he survived. He pulled together as many imps as he could and hid out to waste away his days as the leader of a rogue imp gang.
